Nedbank ‘bank for the future’ in Limbe
The Reserve Bank of Malawi has hailed Nedbank Malawi for bringing innovative products and services into Malawi’s financial sector.
RBM Deputy Governor for Economics Naomi Ngwira was speaking when she unveiled Nedbank’s Branch of the Future in Limbe.
The bank is located near Kapenga bus depot in Limbe and, among other things, provides customers with convenience and modern technology through the use of tablet computers as well as free Internet services.
Ngwira said the ambiance in the new Nedbank branch in Limbe matches with those seen in developed economies such as South Africa.
“Today’s customer is becoming sophisticated and will only distinguish institutions through quality of services, “said Ngwira.
She urged the banking industry to invest more in both human resource and infrastructural development, which she argued remains a challenge.
On his part, Nedbank Managing Director, Paul Guta, said outlets under the new concept are designed to ensure an efficient and seamless client banking experience.
“This is a next generation of branches, offering state of the art technology designed to deliver an unprecedented client experience at our branches,” said Guta.
He disclosed plans to open five more such branches this year at Mangochi, Zomba, Kasungu, Salima and Madisi in Dowa.
