New Dawn Boxing Promotions will open a new chapter in the stables history next month when it stages an international non-title contest for the first time.

Malawi’s Robert Kachiza will face Zimbabwean Tinashe Mwadziwana at Lilongwe Community Centre on May 10.

New Dawn Boxing Promotions managing director, Mike Chimaliza, said the bill has been arranged after the stable established ties with Delta Force Boxing Academy of Zimbabwe.

“New Dawn is now engaging another gear by bringing an international boxer for the first time. The boxer is Tinashe from Harare Zimbabwe and is a product of Delta Force Boxing Academy,” he said.

Chimaliza said he settled for Kachiza because of his impressive record at amateur level during international assignments.

“Sometimes people are surprised with good performance of Robert (Kachiza) here in Malawi. But they should know that Robert has achieved a lot internationally during his amateur days.

“Robert is a former gold medalist at the 2007 Africa Youth games in Lesotho and also won bronze medal during the 2009 All Africa Games in Namibia. He is also a former Olympian having won at the 2008 Olympic Games held in China. Robert also won bronze medal during the 2010 Zone VI games in South Africa,” he said.

Chimaliza said other details concerning the bill would be disclosed later.

“We will soon announce full details regarding the supporting fights and we promise best fights,” he said.
