New mobile commerce application launched
A new mobile commerce application to be used in facilitating online trading and mobile money transactions has been rolled in the country.
Dubbed Msika Mobile, the app is also connected to the Malawi Revenue Authority information system.
Msika Mobile Chief Executive Office Officer Kondwani Ntonya said the app connects buyers and sellers.
“Our colleagues in other countries started doing this long time ago. The application is easy to use. You just download it, log in and publish what you are buying or selling.
Ntonya said anyone can use the app irrespective of how much money one makes.
“The application is for everyone. We are even more interested to reach the unbanked because you can send or receive your money there and then. As a country we need to aspire for more and more cashless businesses transactions and Msika fits perfectly well in the aspirations,” he said.
He said the system is safe and secure saying it has state of the art mechanisms to protect people’s money.
Singer Hazel Mak spiced up the launch of the app with her singing and dance moves.
