A new film titled Sorry to My Mother will be premiered on April 29 2022 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe.
Producers have since released a trailer ahead of the premiere.
Some of the actors starring in the film are Ian Chitsekula, comedians Maguba and Nyauyu, Wendy Lukwa, Wellan Kamwaza and Pastor Moses Makawa.
Shot and directed by John Ngulube of Positive Arts with support from Alex Chilambe, the film tackles realities of life ranging from poverty, ungratefulness and struggles of a single mother.
The film tells the story of a young man who fails to take care of his mother despite having the capacity to do so.
Producer Brazio Kanyong’o yesterday described Sorry to My Mother as a must-watch.
“We took our time on this film and we are optimistic that people will love it. We just want to call upon people to patronise the premiere in April. For now, we have the trailer for people to appreciate what the movie is all about,” Kanyong’o said.
He also called on well-wishers and the corporate world to partner with them ahead of the premiere.
“Our target is not only the local market but we are looking at the international stage. Film is making progress in the country and we are happy to add it to several fantastic films that have been produced. We have lots of stories that need to be told and this is just one of them,” Kanyong’o said.
