Former National Youth Football Association (NYFA) chairperson, Mabvuto Missi, has advised the association’s newly-elected executive committee against working in isolation.
“The only thing I can advise them is to work as a team and also support each other. If one of them chooses to work individually, that will be a deadly mistake. And they also have to keep in touch with the sponsor –sponsorship is a marriage and everyone should know what the sponsor expect,” Missi explained.
The association went to polls last Saturday where Chimango Munthali and Osward Lungu were elected Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson, respectively, unopposed.
Missi, who also served the association for 10 years as a Treasurer and Vice-Chairperson, said he did not seek re-election deliberately.
“I have left a legacy which is transparent and fruitful. So, I am really happy for them and it is my payer that they should continue from where I left,” he added.
Meanwhile, Munthali has vowed to maintain the good relationship with the sponsor, FMB.
“We have to give credit to the previous committee. They tried as much as possible to secure sponsorship for youth football. So, we will continue from that good foundation,” he said.
During the elections, affiliates also voted Thoko Chimbal i as General Secretary with Danny Makey as his vice; Tiyenkhu Chavula as Treasurer, while Macloud Munthali and Wasauka Nyirenda were elected executive members.
