Ngalande’s goal earns nomination
Malawi national football team forward Robin Ngalande’s recent wonder strike for his South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club, Baroka FC, has been nominated for November’s Goal of the Month Award.
In a statement, PSL said Ngalande’s goal in a 2-2 draw against Robert Ng’ambi’s Platinum Stars would compete for the award alongside that of his team-mate, Mpho Kagaswane, who scored in another game.
Other goals earmarked for the award are Hlompho Kekana’s wonder strike in a 3-1 win over Orlando Pirates.
Kekana’s teammate, Anthony Laffor, was also nominated for his stunning goal in the same game against Pirates whereas Chippa United playmaker, Samuel Julies, has also earned nomination for his brace in a 2-0 win over Bidvest Wits.
Other goals that have been nominated are for Pirates’ Marc van Heerden, AmaZulu’s Rhulani Manzini, Golden Arrows duo Jabulani Shongwe and Siphelele Magubane.
The winning goal will be determined by fans who will vote through PSL’s website www.psl.co.za
