NGO drills business women
Business women in the country have been asked to work together to advance female owned enterprises on the market.
Chairperson of Agriculture and Economic Empowerment of Women, Ellen Chasowa, said this during a review meeting organised by NGO-Gender Coordinating Network in Blantyre.
Chasowa said the review meeting was a follow up to another business management meeting that was held in February this year where women raised their concerns regarding lending institutions.
She told stakeholders that she was impressed to hear that Tiyanjane Group of Chigumula is doing well in honouring their loans.
“Even though you are paying back your loans, this should not keep you away from aiming even higher so that you reach a point where you are able to run your business debt free,” Chasowa said.
Magret Bika of Tiyanjane Group from a Machinjiri in Blantyre said the conditions given by some financial institutions make it hard for entrepreneurs to survive.
