NGO seeks to empower women and the youth
Representatives of Forum for Youth Development (Foyode), say they are geared to improve the lives of youths and women in the district.
The youth led organisation, which is based in Machinga, imparts basic information on environment and climate change, gender, human rights and governance, economic empowerment and sexual reproductive health issues to the communities.
Foyode Executive Director, Mphatso Kapito, said they are initiating several projects and will construct a resource centre at Nampeya in the district.
“The centre will assist both boys and girls to focus on education as it will have a library and an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) laboratory,” Kapito said.
Foyode started its operations in 2003 and also assisted sex workers in Machinga to start accessing health services.
