Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has hailed Nico Life Insurance Company for sponsoring the soldiers’ Inter-Sports Unit Festival every year.
MDF representative, John Kaputa, made the remarks in Blantyre on Friday when Nico Life donated K1 million to the MDF ahead of the annual sports festival to be staged on May 29.
“The relationship between MDF and Nico Life dates back to seven years ago when this marriage started. We are thankful to Nico Life Insurance for the support because our units have already started preparations,” Kaputa explained.
“Last weekend, I was at Changalume Barracks to monitor how preparations have started. They were staging indoor games to select their players, so too are the other stables.”
Nico Life Manager for Individual Life, Steven Kanyoza, said they support the sports festival because MDF was one of their major partners.
“Most of the women and men in the Malawi Defence Force have policies with us, so we said ‘why not support them when it comes to the games’,” he said.
Kanyoza said Nico Life was proud to be associated with sports.
