Nico Life and Nico Pension have donated K2 million to Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) to help the organisation in its Covid-19 awareness initiative.
DAPP is conducting the initiative in Machinga District in the area of Traditional Authority Nyambi.
Speaking during the donation, Nico Life Chief Executive Officer, Eric Chapola, said it is their company’s wish to see people sensitised about the pandemic for better prevention.
He added that it was further encouraging that instead of depending on donors, DAPP had already started reaching out to the masses.
“We are motivated because of the projects DAPP are involved in across the country and when we leant that DAPP not only relies on donor aid but they have an initiative on their own where they sell second hand clothes to supplement donor aid, that moved us a lot and we decided to come in,” Chapola said.
DAPP Malawi Head of Programs, Moses Chibwana, thanked to the companies for the donation.
“We are running different projects and this donation is going towards support for Covid-19 awareness where we will equip the community on what they can do to prevent the pandemic,” Chibwana said.
