Malawi Police Service has charged with murder seven suspects that were arrested in connection with the brutal killing of a 54-year-old person with albinism, Yasin Gama, at Kande in Nkhata Bay.

Gama was killed on December 31 2018 in full view of his nine-year-old son.

Later, the police arrested suspects who were remanded at Nkhata Bay Police Station for two months without being charged, before being transferred to Mzuzu Prison.

National Police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, said they have completed investigations into the matter and referred the matter to court.

“We have charged it suspects with murder and, to reach the extent of charging them, it means we have done all our investigations well. Malawians should trust us because we cannot charge suspects without conducting investigations,” said Kadadzera while refusing to disclose the identities of the suspects.

Meanwhile, Kadadzera has said they have not arrested anyone in connection to the missing of 18-month-old baby, Eunice Nkhonjera, at Khwawa in Karonga District, where she was allegedly abducted while sleeping with her mother.
