No Miracle for Chiefs

Nyasa Big Bullets’ defender Miracle Gabeya’s dream of signing for South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants, Kaizer Chiefs, is over.

Chiefs have released the Malawi National Football Team centre-back after two weeks of trials, the Soweto giants announced on their website yesterday.

Chiefs’ Media Officer, Vina Maphosa, confirmed to The Citizen newspaper of South Africa about the release of the Malawian sweeper.

“The other two (Gustavo Paez and Pedro Henrique Dias DeAmorin) are still in camp with the team,” Maphosa was quoted on the publication.

However, Gabeya has since relocated to newly-promoted PSL side, Highland Park, also for trials.

Gabeya has been released a week after Chiefs also showed the exit door Ivorian defender, Ismael Olivier Toure.

The Flames player has a few days to impress Highlands as the international transfer window closes on January 31.

The former Under-20 defender, has in the last two years, undergone trials with Chippa United and Bloemfontein Celtic.

It was going to take some sort of a miracle for Gabeya to sign for Chiefs as they are a big team in Africa.

Little wonder, since the 1980s only Jack Chamangwana and Patrick Mabedi, were deemed good enough to sign for the former South African champions.
