No Reggae Night this year

DJ ROKAZ—We need to assist with whatever little we have

There will be no Reggae Night this year due to Covid, organiser DJ Rokaz said Thursday.

DJ Rokaz, hosts Reggae Night in March to celebrate his birthday.

DJ Rokaz who has also been in the limelight in hosting other events in Blantyre as well as working with Team Entertainers and Black Missionaries, said he made it a point to be hosting Reggae Night but with Covid, he had no choice but to cancel it.

“Covid has affected shows and, with a ban on gatherings of more than 50 people, I thought we could not go ahead,” DJ Rokaz said.

In the absence of Reggae Night, DJ Rokaz said he will instead celebrate his birthday with wounded soldiers in Zomba.

“There are 10 families of wounded soldiers who really need our help. They need clothes, food and other necessities. I would like to help and those who can assist with other necessities such as soap, cooking oil and clothes can do so,” DJ Rokaz said.

He also said that people can also assist in donating masks and hand saniters in the fight against the pandemic.

“We need to assist with whatever little we have. I do not have enough but I thought the little I have I can help the wounded soldiers,” DJ Rokaz said.
