No Richard Mbulu, no problem

Mafco FC Coach, Temwa Msuku, has refused to attribute marksman Richard Mbulu’s departure to the team’s struggles in front of goal.

Mbulu, the last season’s top scorer, joined Mozambican club Costa do Sol early this year.

Since his departure, the Salima soldiers have, despite creating scoring opportunities, struggled to put the ball at the back of the net.

Mafco created many scoring opportunities on Saturday when they lost 2-0 to Silver Strikers. But in as far as Msuku is concerned, there is no need to put Mbulu into the scoring equation.

“People may say we are failing to score because of Mbulu’s absence but that is how they look at it. As for me, I rely on players in my camp.

“Right now, the team is coming up as players who were outside the country for military duties are back and you can see that coordination is there.

“I have already said that Mbulu was in a class of his own, so we should not waste time comparing him with other players,” said Msuku, whose team has lost thrice at home in the league.

In a post-match interview on Sunday, Silver Coach, Lovemore Fazili, said he was impressed with his charges’ zeal to win.

“The players have played together for some time and they understand each other better. The fighting spirit is also there,” Fazili said.
