No targets for Imosys

Imosys Netball Club have no reason to play under pressure after the sponsor gave them no target for this season.

Formerly known as MTL Queens and Thunder Queens, Imosys surrendered their top slot in the Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League following their 41-23 loss to champions Kukoma Diamonds.

Imosys Operations Manager Kumbukani Namanja said, having signed a one-year deal, they felt it necessary not to give the team any targets.

“We decided to support netball to help in the development of the sport. We felt we should not give the team any target so that they should enjoy their game. We just want to bond well so that the girls should enjoy their game,” Namanja, whose firm was established with an aim of harnessing Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to assist in solving day to day challenges and improve process efficiencies, said.

Imosys Coach-player Joanna Kachilika was happy for the support they were getting from Imosys.

“They are motivating us to perform better,” she said.

Imosys have dropped to third position on the log table, having collected 14 points from eight games.

Diamonds are topping the table with 14 points from eight games.

Second-placed First Choice Tigresses, who have a perfect record, have 14 points from seven games.

Prison Queens lie fourth with 10 points from eight games whereas Shizaella are fifth, also with 10 points from seven games.

Chileka anchor the 11-member log table without a point whereas Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters are on position 10 with two points.

Machinjiri are ninth with two points from nine games.
