Be Forward Wanderers have appealed for support from the corporate world to make the forthcoming dinner and dance a success.

The 2015 Carlsberg Cup champions are set to hold a fundraising dinner and dance at College of Medicine in Blantyre on Friday in their quest to raise over K70 million.

Wanderers marketing officer, Steve Palemeza, said they were hopeful that well-wishers will support the cause.

“So far we have received encouraging support from well-wishers, but it is our hope that they will support us further to make the event a success,” he said.

Palemeza said the exercise was organised to enable the club set up some structures, including leasing of land to construct a stadium.

“We are the biggest team in Malawi and we need to own structures such as a stadium. We are doing this to develop the team, boost our image and also avoid unnecessary expenses which we incur when we hire other facilities,” he said.

Palemeza said tickets for the dinner and dance were available at various selling points, including Wanderers Club House along the Lali Lubani Road in Chichiri, Blantyre.

“Standard tickets are going at K20,000 with VIP tickets being sold at K30,000 while VVIP tickets cost K50,000. A corporate table for five is worth K150,000 while a corporate table for 10 people cost K300,000,” he said.
