Nomads date Mangochi Select
Mangochi Select will host Be Forward Wanderers on January 27 in a fundraising match for needy students of Mangochi Secondary School.
Wanderers Vice General Secretary, Chris Kananji, and Mangochi School Alumni Publicity Secretary, Rashid Mapila, confirmed that the association is targeting K5 million from the match.
“After playing Wanderers, we will approach other teams such as Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers to assist us in this initiative. We also want to rehabilitate the school, which is in a sorry state,” Mapila said.
He said Wanderers, as TNM Super League champions, can attract a huge crowd for the match.
Kananji said they were ready to play the select side.
“This would be part of our preparations for the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League matches against AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“We will also be travelling to Mozambique for some games [Saturday]. So, there are a number of friendly games which we will play before the Caf match next month,” Kananji said.
