Nomads’ duo off to Japan
Be Forward Wanderers players, Jabulani Linje and Precious Msosa, left for Japan on Tuesday to undergo month-long trials with unnamed clubs.
Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, said their sponsor, Be Forward Limited, would host the players as part of the sponsorship agreement which provides for an exchange of players.
“Our two players are going to Japan when their season is underway. We wish them well as their success will be good news for us as a family,” Butao said without disclosing the identity of the Japanese club that will host Linje and Msosa.
As part of the agreement, Japanese midfielder Genki Nakamura played for Wanderers last season before being released.
In a reciprocal move, Wanderers sent their two seasoned stars, Joseph Kamwendo and Peter Wadabwa, to Japan in January but they returned home without undergoing trials, amid reports that the season was then on break in the Asian nation.
Butao said they learnt lessons from Wadabwa and Kamwendo’s trip, adding that the TNM Super League leaders have a deep squad that can cope with the remaining games.
