Nomads, Masters warm up for Caf

Kukoma Diamonds finished the 2017 Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League in style after beating rivals Thunder Queens 55- 41 at Blantyre Youth Centre yesterday to maintain their dominance of the league.
Diamonds were highly motivated in yesterday’s match as they welcomed back their Head Coach, Griffin Saenda, who missed a good part of the team’s games last year due to illness.
The win ensured that the champions finished the league unbeaten with 54 points in 18 games.
Rainbow Paints Sales Executive, Jangale Chiosa, said the company is impressed with the standards of the game that were on display throughout the season.
But she expressed disappointment that teams from the league failed to win national tournaments.
“We are pleased that players from our league dominated the national team callus. But we also wanted to see our teams winning all national competitions,” Chiosa said.
Blantyre District Netball League Chairperson, Junia Kazembe, said while the league was a great success, it was disappointing that some teams and players lacked discipline.
Dimaonds took home K1 million while runners-up Thunder pocketed K500,000.
Tigresses finished third and went home with K250,000.
In a match played earlier, Serenity stars beat Prison United 54-40.
