Nomads players on 2-week break

TNM Super League champions, Be Forward Wanderers, will regroup on January 9 to start preparations for the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.
The Nomads kick-start their assignment in February against AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo, whereas Masters Security FC date Petro de Luanda of Angola in the Confederations Cup.
Wanderers Team Manager, Stevie Madeira, said they have sent their players on a two-week break.
“We, as a technical panel, will sit down and reflect on our 2017 season. This will help us prepare for our Caf assignment. Meanwhile, I cannot commit into giving much information on our plans because we are supposed to meet our officials to submit our reports. Otherwise, we do not have new plans on the ground apart from the usual preparations,” he said.
Madeira said they would also strategise for the 2018 TNM Super League season.
“The competition in the 2017 season has been tough and we cannot rule out chances that the 2018 season would be tougher. This is also the right time for us to prepare for the season so that we can defend the title. It will, however, not be easy to defend this championship,” he added.
Wanderers senior player, Alfred Manyozo Junior, said they expect to resume training with determination as they prepare for the continental competition.
The Nomads and Masters have until December 31 to register players for the continental competitions.
Wanderers won the Super League title with 69 points, two points above their archrivals Nyasa Big Bullets.
