Mighty Wanderers and striker Vincent Nyangulu have failed to reach an agreement on the extension of a contract.

Nyangulu’s contract is set to expire by the end of this month.

This means the former Masters Security FC striker can sign a pre-contract with another club.

In an interview Tuesday, Nyangulu confirmed that he was yet to sign a new deal.

“We started negotiations but nothing concrete has been agreed. I am ready to stay at the club but it will depend on what we will agree on,” Nyangulu said.

The striker joined Wanderers on a three-year deal from Masters in 2019.

Wanderers’ Secretary to the Board Humphreys Mvula downplayed the matter Tuesday.

“The issue is about the player and the club; so, I will not discuss it in the media,” Mvula said.

Before the start of the season, Nyangulu sneaked to Mozambique to try his luck at Vilankhulo FC but the move flopped.

Nyangulu has been Wanderers’ reliable striker for the past two seasons, having scored vital goals.

Last season, he netted 14 goals in all competitions. He won the Golden Boot award in the F D H Bank Cup with five goals.

Interestingly, Nyangulu has scored in three consecutive Blantyre derbies against Nyasa Big Bullets in all competition at Kamuzu Stadium.

Apart from Nyangulu, the Nomads have Chiukepo Msowoya, Muhammad Sulumba and Misheck Botoman as recognisable strikers.
