Nomads seek Nigerian striker’s clearance

Carlsberg Cup holders, Be Forward Wanderers have applied for an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) of Nigerian striker, Amos Bello, hoping he can feature in Sunday’s TNM Super League game at Silver Strikers.

Bello impressed when he played against Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver in Lilongwe last weekend, hence Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, Thursday confirmed that they are pushing for the striker’s ITC.

“There are procedures that have to be followed because he is an international player. He is a good player, who can add depth to the team this season. There are 50- 50 chances that he could feature this Sunday,” Butao explained.

Another Nigerian attacking midfielder, Olasunkanmi Opeyemi, is also undergoing trials with the Nomads, but they have only applied for Bello’s clearance.

Nomads Coach, Jack Chamangwana, said Bello could be a good addition to Wanderers as they try to wrestle the TNM Super League championship from rivals, Bullets.

The Nomads have also bolstered their squad with experienced attackers, Jimmy Zakazaka and Peter Wadabwa and Genki Nakamura, whereas Jaffalie Chande’s transfer from Bullets has delayed due to contractual disputes.
