Nomads, Silver Strikers to open season
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) Thursday finally released first-round fixtures for the 2018 edition of the top-flight league.
Nine games have been lined up on the opening weekend of April 14 and 15.
The notable game on the opening day is that of champions, Be Forward Wanderers, meeting Airtel Top 8 Trophy kings, Silver Strikers, in Lilongwe.
The Nomads and Silver also clash Thursday in a Charity Shield match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Sulom will announce later the venue of the match between Wanderers and Silver.
Elsewhere, rookies TN Stars welcome Blue Eagles at Kasungu Stadium on April 14.
On the same day, newcomers Karonga United entertain Tigers as Red Lions travel to meet Dwangwa United, with Mzuni FC at home against Nchalo United.
On April 15, the action continues with 2016 champions, Kamuzu Barracks, hosting Nyasa Big Bullets at Civo Stadium.
Bullets meet the soldiers tomorrow in the Charity Shield’s semi-final. In Mzuzu, Moyale Barracks welcome Nchalo on April 15.
