Flames Coach Ronny van Geneugden has exempted Be Forward Wanderers from his list of players to begin training at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre tomorrow.

The players are Precious Sambani, Richard Chipuwa, Stanley Sanudi, Rafiq Namwera, Felix Zulu, Jabulani Linje, Dennis Chembezi and Peter Cholopi.

Geneugden said the Nomads players were left out of the two-week training camp because of their club’s Caf Champions League engagements against Democratic Republic of Congo’s AS Vita.

“We have excused the Wanderers players so that they concentrate on their team’s match. They were with us during the fitness training and we are sure they are in good shape,” he said.

Also missing from the call up is Nyasa Big Bullets’ defender, Miracle Gabeya, who is attending trials at South African side Highlands Park.

The list has three names of players who were not called up for the two-week physical fitness training sessions which ended on Friday.

These are Dwangwa United goalkeeper Charles Thom, Premier Bet Wizards’ Charles Petro and Patrick Phiri of Nyasa Big Bullets.

Football Association of Malawi released the players’ names without listing down members of the technical panel as Geneugden is expected to come up with changes to his backroom staff.

Contracts for the Belgian mentor’s two assistants, Gerald Phiri Senior and DeKlerk Msakakuona, are due to expire next month.

Geneugden reportedly proposed former Flames defenders, Patrick Mabedi and Meke Mwase, as part of his backroom staff.
