Mkandawire said the Nomads are working on capturing one big-name player to finalise their dealings on the transfer market.

“We are trying to finalise one more signing but I cannot tell you who it is. We are trying our best to put everything in place so that, when we start the season, we should not have excuses. We are banking on these players to give us good results and, without doubt, we will do it,” he said.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that veteran defender Harry Nyirenda’s contract will be renewed despite spending a good part of the season on the bench.

However, Nyirenda wrote on his Facebook page that he is returning to Lilongwe ahead of the new season.

The whereabouts of another veteran, Essau Kanyenda, are not clear as he was reported to be out of the country.

The Lali Lubani Road side has set itself a target of winning the TNM Super League title and defending the Fisd Challenge Cup.
