Musician Dan Lufani has said he is satisfied with the way his Sweet Banana went at Lilongwe Golf Club on Sunday.
The launch of the Sweet Banana track was graced by Nigerian star Kcee, who he collaborated in the song.
The social media was awash with news that the show did not go down well and that it started late despite Dan Lu announcing on his Facebook page that the performances would start in time.
But Dan Lu said on Tuesday that the show did not start late but rather people started pinching up to the venue at 5pm.
“The show did not start late as some people are putting it. We tried our best and the programme I put on Facebook was the one I followed, the only artist which disappointed us was Organised Family which never showed up,” the Part of Life creator said.
Dan Lu could not be drawn to say what happened for Zambia’s Organised Family not to make it having been put on a poster.
“I discussed with the group starting when they were in South Africa until when they came to the Sand Music Festival so I don’t know why they didn’t show up,” he said.
Despite the absence of Organised Family, Dan Lu said he was happy that Kcee made it and that he entertained the audience.
He also said that the Nigerian star was happy with the warm reception he received in the country.
Dan Lu also pointed out that people come to shows at Lilongwe Golf Club very late and that organisers are aware of the trend.
“Rockers Band started performing as indicated on the programme I put up and I went on stage exactly the time I indicated. Some people were saying there was no audience but in Lilongwe fans normally starting coming in at 5 or 6,” he said.
Dan Lu said Kcee jumped on stage at 7 and that the show went on until 10pm.
“I just don’t know why some people come to shows only to pick up faults. We spent a lot to put this show together and we worked hard. As Malawians let’s support each other and not pull each other down. I just want to thank all those who came to support me,” he said.
Kcee, a singer and songwriter real name Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo left on Monday.
Some of the Nigerian star’s well known songs include Pull Over and Limpopo.
