Ntchisi man wins tractor in Standard Bank promo
Standard Bank’s Mlimi Alirenji promotion came to an end on Friday with a Ntchisi based farmer, Samalani Mingu, winning a K16 million tractor.
Mingu, 49, comes from Chisamba Village in the area of Chief Chilooko.
Standard Bank Head of Sales, Gray Kazima, thanked all farmers who participated in the promotion.
The promotion saw, over 10,000 tobacco growers participating in the competition with 600 of them winning various prizes.
Kazima said over 2,000 transactions were recorded especially through point of sale.
“The grand prize of a tractor underscores our commitment to invest in the country’s agriculture sector. As noted, one of the major problems at this year’s tobacco market is the high rejection rate. We expect the rejection rate to be minimised next year,” said Kazima.
