NWFA polls April 15, chairperson undecided

The National Women’s Football Association (NWFA) has disclosed that it will elect office bearers on April 15 in Salima District at a venue yet to be identified.
NWFA Chairperson Suzgo Ngwira confirmed the development Thursday.
“This will be a good opportunity for the affiliates to elect the people of their choice,” Ngwira said.
The new office bearers will serve a four-year term.
However, NWFA is yet to open nominations process.
Meanwhile, Ngwira has said she is undecided on whether to seek re-election.
“I am still consulting my family members and other stakeholders. But I believe our committee has done well to take the game of women’s football to another level,” she said.
Ngwira reclaimed the NWFA top seat after beating her predecessor Severia Chalira during the elections held in Mangochi in 2019.
She had lost the seat to Chalira in 2012.
During Ngwira’s reign, Malawi Women’s National Football Team, the Scorchers, finished as runners-up in the 2021 Cosafa Cup after losing 1-0 to Tanzania.
