Nyasa Big Bullets have reshuffled their technical panel as they have demoted goalkeepers’ coach Swadick Sanudi to the Reserve side.
Following the development, Vincent Gona, who was goalkeepers’ coach for the Reserve side, has been promoted to the senior team.
Bullets Chief Administrator Albert Chigoga said Sanudi would help to groom goalkeepers at the Reserve side.
“We want to utilise his vast experience to groom future Bullets goalkeepers. He is well trained in those areas,” he said.
Chigoga said the changes have been made following recommendations from head coach Kalisto Pasuwa.
However, both Sanudi and Gona were not readily available Thursday.
Former Flames midfielder Sherry Msuku advised Sanudi to accept the new role.
“I think management is restructuring the technical panel. This is normal in football. Let us wait and see,” Msuku said.
Sanudi, who is also Flames goalkeepers’ trainer, has been Bullets goalkeepers’ coach since 2015 after he retired from active football.
He was also appointed Flames goalkeeper trainer in 2017, having replaced Phillip Nyasulu.
On the part of Gona, he retired from active football in 2017 following a back injury he sustained while playing for Bullets. He also played for Mighty Tigers.
There is tension in Bullets camp as some players, namely Miracle Gabeya, Ernest Kakhobwe and Precious Phiri, are yet to sign new deals.
However, Bullets released 11 senior players and promoted some players from the reserve side.
The released players include strikers Chiukepo Msowoya, Zicco Mkanda, Bright Munthali, midfielders Dalitso Sailesi, Nelson Kangunje, Chimango Kayira and defenders Sankhani Mkandawire and Pilirani Zonda.
