Nyasa Big Bullets have earmarked four players from Bullets Reserves for promotion.
However, the decision is yet to be finalised as Bullets’ coaching panel is yet to agree on which players should be promoted.
Sources close to Bullets’ coaching panel said the likes of captain Yamikani Mologeni, Christopher Salima and Emmanuel Savieli have been listed for promotion after impressing for the Reserves.
“However, other members of the coaching panel feel that we should not promote the youngsters because they will not change a thing.
“For instance, other members feel Bullets is already strong in areas where the four have been earmarked for promotion, as such, there is no need to promote them. If players from Reserves were good in other areas where the main team is weak then that promotion would have been ideal,” he said.
Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa could not be reached for comment.
However, the team’s chief administration officer Albert Chigoga said they were waiting for the coaching panel to recommend which players to promote.
“As of now I cannot speculate because we haven’t yet received a report on which players will be promoted. The coaching panel, led by the head coach, recommends which players to promote or sign from other clubs,” he said.
Bullets Reserves is serving its purpose since Nyasa Manufacturing Company took over the team.
Each season, the team promotes players to the main team and some of its graduates include Chimwemwe Idana, Nickson Nyasulu, Kesten Simbi, Clever Nkungula, Patrick Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma.
