Nyasa Big Bullets has reduced Blue Eagles’ lead in the TNM Super League to two points after a 2-1 win over Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium Wednesday.
Bullets and Moyale were deadlocked 0-0 at half time but five minutes into the second half, Precious Sambani opened the scores with a thumping header from Patrick Mwaungulu’s corner kick.
Bullets doubled their lead in the 74th minute through Babatunde Adepoju following an exchange of passes with Ernest Petro and Hassan Kajoke.
But Moyale pulled back through Hassan Upindi who combined well with Lloyd Njaliwa in the 74th minute.
The hosts continued to pile pressure after the goal but Bullets’ defence stood firm to deny them.
The win took Bullets to 17 points from seven matches against Eagles’ 19 from the same number of games.
Moyale are stuck on position 13 with six points from eight matches.
Bullets coach Calisto Pasuwa applauded his charges for putting up a gallant fight to recover from a barren draw with Karonga United on Saturday at Karonga Stadium.
His counterpart Pritchard Mwasa, whose side lost 3-1 to Mafco last weekend, said losing two games in a row was painful.
