Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve to face Bangwe All Stars in ThumbsUp SRFA final

Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve will date Bangwe All Stars in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League Premier Division final on Saturday.
Bullets Reserve reached the final after beating Fomo 4-0 on aggregate, having won the second semifinal leg 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
At Mulanje Park Stadium, Bullets Reserve narrowly beat Fomo 1-0 on Thursday.
During the second leg, Franklin Titani put Bullets Reserve in the lead in the 31st minute before Emmanuel Saviel doubled the lead in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, Chikumbutso Salima scored the third goal for Reserve in the 56th minute.
Bullets Reserve Coach Enos Chatama said his charges could have scored more goals.
“However, we are happy with this victory and we cannot wait for the final. Although we missed a lot of scoring opportunities, we are satisfied with the result,” he said.
Fomo Assistant Coach John Majiga blamed poor officiation and unfamiliarity with an artificial turf for team’s poor show.
“Bullets Reserve scored their first goal from an offside position and everyone saw it. This demoralised my players. On the other hand, our players also struggled playing on the artificial turf,” he said.
SRFA Chairperson Raphael Humba said the league will know 2022 season champions on Saturday.
“It has been an exciting journey,” he said.
