Nyasa Bullets Reserve win ThumbsUp SRFA title

Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve continued with their impressive form when they won the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier Division title for the third consecutive season after beating Bangwe All Stars 2-0 in the final.
Bullets Reserve Coach Enos Chatama dubbed the season as successful following the team’s achievement in the Nyasa Capital Finance, Powerstart Tayale Top-8 Cup and the Aubrey Dimba Trophy.
“It has been an incredible season and I salute the players and my technical colleagues for a job well done.
“During the match, we struggled for the better part of the first half because we did not want to concede an early goal. We were studying our opponents. Nevertheless, we achieved what we were looking for,” he said.
Bullets Reserve scored through Lyton Chinong’one and Emmanuel Savieli, who won the Golden Boot race with 24 goals from 19 matches.
The champions could have won by more goals but were thwarted by All Stars goalkeeper Elias Missi.
In reaction, All Stars Coach Mabvuto Lungu said they were unfortunate to lose.
“It was a tricky affair but we did not utilise our chances,” he said.
All Stars have been promoted to the Super League as Bullets Reserve cannot compete in the same league with the seniors.
Top officials such as Rab Processors Group of Companies Communication Manager Andrew Lulker, Football Association of Malawi President Walter Nyamilandu and SRFA Chairperson Raphael Humba were impressed with the performances of the teams.
