OC Stars came from behind to beat Development Aid from People to People (Dapp) Teachers College 3-1 and claim the Catering Solutions Limited Football Bonanza on Sunday in Blantyre.
The two-day bonanza kickedoff on Saturday at Chileka ground with eight teams sorting it out.
But come Sunday, OC Stars and Dapp made it to the final, which was watched by an impressive crowd, including traditional leaders, Catering Solutions officials and Football Association of Malawi (Fam) competitions manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka.
Dapp scored first through Mike Ntaba in the first half, but OC Stars came back into the second half scoring through Arthur Moffat, Manuel Singano and Chesmo Chimera.
As winners, OC Stars received K100,000 with the runners-up Dapp pocketing K40,000.
Catering Solutions Limited general manager, Thumbiko Kondowe, said they sponsored the bonanza as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“As Catering Solutions Limited, we operate in Chileka and as such, it is an obligation for us to contribute towards development as well as the well-being of the community, hence sponsoring the football bonanza,” Kondowe said.
Chairperson of the bonanza, Mario Gadaga, hailed Catering Solutions for sponsoring the tournament and called on other companies to assist in football development in the communities.
