Oday in fundraising basketball tourney
An event management firm, Oday, has organised a day-long tournament to raise funds for the renovation of Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC) court.
The tournament will be held on February 24 at BYC, with male and female players earmarked for participation.
Oday Marketing Manager, Jemimah Chilunga, said they felt obliged to help renovate the home of Southern Zone Basketball League sides, including Bricks, Magang’a, Crazy Warriors and Lox 360.
“At this event, people will have to form a team of five and should have at least two ladies in each team. Furthermore, there will be kids’ activities such as jumping castles, sports trivia and kids’ one-on-one basketball game.
“This event will attract over 250 men and women. The funds raised from this event will be used to renovate Blantyre Youth Centre basketball court, and part of the funds will be used to buy basketball balls for secondary schools in the Southern Zone,” she said, adding that they will dish out cash, medals, trophies and other prizes to winners.
