Digital transformation is the profound transformation of business and organisational activities, processes, competencies and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of a mix of digital technologies and their accelerating impact across society in a strategic and prioritised way, with present and future shifts in mind.

While digital transformation is predominantly used in a business context, it also impacts other organisations such as governments, public sector agencies and organisations which are involved in tackling societal challenges such as pollution and aging populations by leveraging one or more of these existing and emerging technologies.

Gama said Microsoft Office 365 provides an easy avenue through which businesses could embrace digital transformation.

He said Microsoft Office 365 helps firms to do business better than the competition, helps employees collaborate and communicate better and serve the customer better.

“Office 365 has surely been a success story and continues to transform the lives and business of our clients. One such case is during the October 2018 Nico House fire which brought down our primary data centre.

“You may have read how quickly we were able to get back on track. This was, among other things, attributed to the Office 365 solution. This solution did not experience any down time since it is hosted in the cloud, and it made all the communication and collaboration we needed to quickly recover seamless,” Gama said.
