Old Mutual Malawi in charity drive at QECH

Old Mutual Malawi on Friday handed over a water tank base and geyser in the Stroke Unit and an oxygen piping to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) valued at K21 million.

The extension of oxygen piping in paediatric wards commenced last year while the construction of a water tank base and installation of a geyser commenced this year.

Speaking during the official handover, Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Managing Director Roy Punungwe said the donation demonstrates the company’s responsible business character.

“Old Mutual demonstrated its responsible business ethos of being a certain friend in uncertain times and let me pledge Old Mutual’s commitment to continue supporting the health sector so that we can further improve our health delivery,” he said.

QECH Hospital Director Samson Mndolo expressed gratitude to the company, indicating that the items will go a long way in the provision of quality health services at the facility.
