Musician Onesimus has apologised for his love comments that infuriated the audience during the launch of Kuche Kuche beer by Castel Malawi at Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.
The ‘Panado’ and ‘Mr Nobody’ star was among several artists, including Black Missionaries, Don Tarz and Piksy, that spiced up the launch of Kuche Kuche beer and, during his performance, the artist told men who are broke not to go into relationships because women need to be cared for and spoiled with more money.
His comments did not go down well with the people, who started pelting him with bottles while calling for Lulu to take over the stage.
The artist, better known as African Butter, tried to continue his set with the track ‘Maria,’ but his session ended prematurely as people kept on pelting bottles.
“I would like to apologise for my jokes this past weekend. I realise that my jokes hurt some of you and I am sorry about that. We all make mistakes from which we learn from. I should have done better knowing the difficulties at hand,” he wrote on his social media pages.
The artist thanked people for their support and love for him throughout his music career.
“Once again, my sincere apologies. Nothing of this nature will ever happen again,” he said.
This is not the first time the artist has found himself on the wrong side with the people as, during his own show at the same venue, he kicked a fan with his boot before he apologised.
Some quarters have advised the artist to concentrate on making music and remain focused and avoid crossing paths with fans.
