Onesimus sings love
Award-winning musician Onesimus is not slowing down as he is out with his new track titled ‘Allegik’.
He said Thursday he was excited to give people a new song that people will reverberate with and enjoy it.
“I have relished making this song and now is the time for people to have fun and enjoy it to the fullest,” Onesimus said.
His ‘Allegik’ track follows the success of his Love and Dreams Extended Playlist (EP) which topped the Apple Music Albums Chart in Malawi for five weeks.
“Music is what I love. This new song ‘Allegik’ speaks of the insane and utterly mesmerising effect love can have on a man. A love so strong and undeniable that he believes that he does not want or need another woman, apart from the woman he is currently with,” he said.
The ‘Panado’ and ‘Maria’ creator added that the song tells the funny story of a man who has been mesmerised by his new love.
“The feeling of love is so strong that he, believes that it is not natural and that he in fact, is being fed a love potion by his one true love. This is the reason why he is not attracted to any other woman except for her. All his friends no longer come to see or visit him,” he said.
Onesimus said, in moving with the times and making sure that the song is accessible, he has put it at different platforms.
Onesimus got his first big break in 2010 when he released his first two singles ‘Beautiful’ featuring Hyphen and ‘Without Your Love’ which landed him his first record deal with the now forgotten Nde’feyo Entertainment.
In 2012, he dropped an R&B mixtape titled BRB in 2012 and, in the same year, he dropped his debut afro R&B project titled Ndele.
In South Africa, Onesimus signed with Muthaland Entertainment and released his critically acclaimed sophomore album titled Messenger.
His 2020 single ‘Here With Me’ did very well on streaming services and has enjoyed airplay on BBC radio.
