Open Connect Limited hosts cultural cocktail

In a quest to enhance good relations with its customers to boost business, Open Connect Limited (OCL) hosted a customer engagement cultural cocktail in Blantyre recently.
The Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Stella Senti, said the company wanted to appreciate the good business environment they have enjoyed with its customers by recognising their various cultures.
“The main reason for this event is for us to interact with our customers to appreciate the business they gave us in 2019 and share ideas on how best to move forward with this partnership in 2020.
“The year 2019 was not an easy one for business compared to the previous years but we count it all joy that we had business from our customers. There were economic challenges that made everybody control their expenditure. It is actually out of luck that we had business,” Senti said.
One of the clients that came to the event, who is also Chief Commercial Officer of Globe Internet Limited, Elias Imani, appreciated the initiative.
He stressed that it goes a long way to cement the relationship between OCL and end user internet service providers.
“It was a good thing for OCL to come up with this initiative because we will be able to engage them on how best we can cement the existing relationship,” he said.
During the event, the clients were treated to traditional dances and dishes from various cultures.
OCL was incorporated on March 8, 2016 following unbundling of Malawi Telecommunication Limited (MTL).
The Shareholders of MTL decided to cut off all fiber networks to form a separate company that would house, maintain and develop the fiber network for national interest.
