Ori boosts Brian Mwando
Ori Meat Products has signed a six-month deal to sponsor boxers from Alufandika Boxing Promotions, Brian and Agnes Mtimaukanena- Mwando.
The parties signed a contract at Robins Park in Blantyre on Thursday. Both parties remained tight-lipped on the amount involved in the deal.
Under the agreement, Ori would be meeting the cost of the boxers’ preparations for fights, the company’s representative, John Kachale said.
“We are willing to meet whatever they will need for their preparations.
We want the pair to become the best not only in Malawi but the whole world,” he said.
Agnes said the support was timely as she was preparing to challenge Zambian, Lorita Muzeya, for a World Boxing Council silver medal welterweight title.
“The fight is important for my career as well as the nation. So the support will help me prepare well,” she said.
Alufandika Boxing Promotions Managing Director, Robin Alufandika, said the stable was pleased to have secured the sponsorship.
