Paladin boss steps down
Paladin Energy Limited, whose subsidiary is mining uranium at Kayelekera in Karonga, on Monday announced the stepping down of its long serving managing director and chief executive officer, John Borshoff.
Borshoff was instrument in Paladin’s investment in the Kayelekera Uranium mine in Karonga and has visited Malawi many times, including at the time of the commissioning of Kayelekera in 2009.
Paladin Energy Chairman Tich Crabb said in a statement yesterday that a process to identify a suitable new CEO is underway and that in the interim, Alexander Molyneux has been appointed acting CEO.
He said under Borshoff’s stewardship, Paladin has built a unique position in the uranium mining industry and he is recognised as a world authority in this realm.
“On behalf of the board, I cannot thank John enough for having the vision, tenacity and spirit to create and lead Paladin,” reads the statement.
