GIVING HOPE—Mendulo (right) presents a book to
Chithambo

By Isaac Salima:

Apostle Francis Mendulo of Voice of God Church on Saturday launched a book titled A Season to Sing for the Barren at a colourful event at Lotus Hotel in Blantyre.

Mendulo, who is resident pastor for Chapima Voice of God Church in Blantyre, said the 123-page book aims at restoring hope to Malawians.

“The book is derived from Isaiah 54 where God is assuring a barren woman to sing because time for her to see the fruit of her womb has come. So, after preaching the word to my congregants, I thought of extending the message to people out there, hence authoring the book.

“So, Malawians should read the book because it is aimed at addressing problems they have faced for long. Malawians have depended on politicians or foreign help for long; so, this is the time for them to turn to their creator and there is hope in Him,” Mendulo said.

During the auction the highest bidder bought the book at K600,000.

Guest of honour at the event Lytton Chithambo, who was the second bidder and bought the book at K550,000, urged Malawians to read the book.

“In the current circumstances, the country needs hope. So, what the book is saying is that the situation is, indeed, bad but there is still tomorrow and people have to start believing and embark on a journey of recovery,” Chithambo said.
