Pastor Zenzo Matoga makes comeback

MATOGA—I am chasing after the presence of the Lord

United States of America (USA)- based gospel musician Pastor Zenzo Matoga has resurfaced after a long break.

The artist, who has worked with a number of musicians such as Collen Ali, Rudo Mkukupa Chakwera, Adams Family, the late Chuma Soko and Tiwonge Mhangohas described his return as the re-introduction of Zenzo Matoga.

He said his music is now focused more on worship music.

“I am into worship music and I am looking at creating a generation that loves Jesus Christ,” Matoga said.

The musician and pastor has since released a song titled ‘No More Idols’ featuring Chandler Moore which started streaming on February 26 2021.

“This is just to let people know that there is more coming. I want to shoot more videos and I am even looking at touring Malawi after the pandemic,” he said Matoga said, through the tour, he would want to hold worship rallies.

“Through worship music I am chasing after the presence of the Lord and I am targeting collaborating with other artists back home,” he said.

Matoga, who was taught the piano by Pastor Moffat Mtegha, said he is always following up on music development in the country despite taking a long break.

“I took a break from music but through Impact Church we have raised the bar with worship music. This is afast growing church based in Boston and is blessed to launch Impact Music bringing a sound of worship from Boston to the world,” he said.

He said he is happy that ‘No More Idols’ is doing well and exploding.

“This is a song that I wrote back in 2018 and it is a decoration that God is the centre of our affection and that He is above everything and no more idols,” Pastor Matoga said.

With five albums to his credit including The Stand Project and Hunger for More, Matoga is a Dove and Grammy nominated song writer for the work he did in some songs such as ‘My Worship’ by Phil Thomson.
