Patience Namadingo faces Eli Njuchi in fundraising concert

Zambia-based musician Patience Namadingo will tonight share the stage with Eli Njuchi and Driemo at the Ufulu concert organised by Nzika at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
The concert is aimed at raising funds that will go to needy students under Nzika charity across the country.
Namadingo wrote on his Facebook page that, on Monday, on his way to the airport back to Lusaka, Zambia, listening to the radio, he learnt of a school fees crisis that has hit universities in the country.
He further said that, in one month, Natural Resources College alone had seen 100 students being cut off due to lack of fees.
“Upon landing in Lusaka, I got a message from the Director of Nzika Charity Organisation in Malawi asking if I would come to Lilongwe and perform at a concert they had organised aiming to raise funds for needy students across the country,” Namadingo said.
The artist, who has initiated a number of fundraising events, said he did not hesitate but to accept to perform at this concert.
“Malawi is right next door, so why will I not fly there on Friday (today), have a good time and help someone go to school,” the ‘Mango’ creator said.
Driemo, who is one of the trending artists at the moment, said he was ready for the concert.
“Sharing the stage with Patience Namadingo and Eli Njuchi is huge. Again, I am happy to be part of a concert for a cause,” he said.
Eli Njuchi, famed for the track ‘Gugugu,’ said he was looking forward to the concert.
“It is not only about entertainment but also supporting needy students out there,” he said.
The artist is also set to launch his album Red Flag on July 30 2022 in Mangochi.
In another development, musician Gwamba, who is launching his album True Independence at Blantyre Sports Club on July 23 2022, has said that he is going to use his album to raise funds for Pashello Charitable Trust in Chikwawa.
He said there will be 50 CDs for sale and that he was targeting to raise K3 million.
