Patience Namadingo goes it alone
Youthful musician Patience Namadingo will be seeking nothing but the best but also set a record when he goes it all alone performing at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe on Saturday.
Namadingo has shown his seriousness for the show as he has been having massive rehearsals with his band at Music Club in Blantyre.
The ‘Msati Mseke’ hit-maker said yesterday after his rehearsal session that he decided to go it alone to test his strength as an artist but also give himself a challenge of performing alone.
“I know it’s not easy but, as a musician, I thought I should do this alone. It’s a challenge but I am optimistic that things will be okay. I just want to call upon people to come and experience the best of me on the night,” Namadingo said.
The artist said this will be a three-hour concert that will see him dishing out a number of songs.
“We will have the first set one hour 10 minutes and then the second one hour 30 minutes and, in between, there will be 20-minute breaks. Basically there will be one artist, a five piece band, dancing crew and one stage,” he said.
Namadingo also said he would unveil an EP titled ‘The All New’ which will be on sale during the concert. He said people will also have a chance yo buy his other albums ‘Lero’ and ‘Tili Ndi Yesu’.
He said the EP is what has been going on behind closed doors of 2016 to January 2017.
“People have listened to Lero album but there is a new Namadingo that they also have seen in ‘Sinjenjemela’, ‘Tandigwireni’ and ‘Ba Yesu’ singles. The EP is an extended play that holds all these singles and then seven new singles,” Namadingo said.
Meanwhile apart from music on the day, people will also have a chance to experience an art exhibition by Lerato Honde.
The exhibition will be in the VIP lobby.
“This is a chance for people to also sample Lerato Honde’s artworks. She is a talented lady,” said the guitarist.
