“So, we are meeting on Saturday (tomorrow) at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre from 8pm and we will start off at 8:30am to Ngabu in Chikwawa. Everybody is requested to come with their car. They should also have groceries, clothes, old clothes, shoes and whatever items they don’t use and that qualifies them to be part of this drive,” Namadingo said.

He said the items will be donated to the elderly, orphans and widows, who are under Bashelo Trust care.

“We also want to roof a classroom for pupils at Bashelo Trust as well as have a proper floor and plaster. Just as we did with William Kachigamba’s initiative, we will have it run online on Facebook and people can make their donations, we will have a bank account and other channels,” he said.

Namadingo said they anticipate that they will drive to Ngabu in less than three hours.

“In Ngabu, we have been given a cow by Issa and so we request those who have big cars to bring with them braai stands. We will also have drinks,” he said.

During the whole event, Namadingo, said DJ Trick will be playing songs.

“We just want to encourage people to wear masks and we will make sure we follow all the precautionary measures in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

Namadingo said he was hopeful that people will support the initiative just as they did with Kachigamba, who is currently in Zambia receiving medical attention with the fundraiser managing to raise over K4.7 million after Namadingo posed as a statue.
