Musician and comedian Patience Namadingo leaves the country today for the United Kingdom, where he is set to perform on July 6 as part of the country’s Independence Day celebrations.
The country will celebrate its independence on July 6 with the main celebrations taking place in Blantyre.
Patience will be performing at the event organised by Malawi Association UK in partnership with Malawi Leeds Association.
“I am excited to perform in the UK. I am prepared to give out my best and I am all set,” Patience said Monday.
The artist has more to show in Europe as he is also set to perform in Dublin, Ireland, on July 13, Denmark on July 17 and then Paris, France, on July 19.
Patience joins other artists who are also in Europe holding performances and they include Alleluya Band which is in Italy, Gasper Nali, who is in United Kingdom and Madalitso Band, the duo of Yosefe Kalekeni and Yobu Maligwa, who are currently in France.
Faith Mussa is also set to perform in Canada, Spain and The UK next month but prior to that he is also set to record an album in South Africa with Benjamin Dube.
Patience over the weekend performed with Menes la Plume at Four Seasons in Lilongwe.
The show was aimed at raising funds to help in cervical cancer screening in rural areas under an organisation known as Girls Education and Women Empowerment.
“It was a good show and people turned up. We are doing a postmortem now to see how much we raised because a lot of people made pledges,” he said.
