Musicians Patience Namadingo and Princess Chitsulo will Friday perform at the Fete de la Musique Festival in Hannover, Germany.
The festival will bring on board several acts.
According to the schedule, Patience and Princess, who have been rehearsing alongside other acts, will perform at 17hrs.
Other acts set to perform include Maharaj from Unesco City of Music Varanasi, Crawford Mac from Unesco City of Music Glasgow.
Hannover, awarded the title of “City of Music” by Unesco, will be contributing some 3,000 musicians at 39 performance locations, both indoor and outdoor. Whether it is classical music, rock, jazz, popular German hit songs, reggae or salsa, the longest day of the year will see bands, choirs, soloists and orchestras making music on the big and small squares of the city centre, and also in shady nooks and corners.
The festival will also coincide with the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Blantyre and Hannover.
Blantyre City Mayor Wild Ndipo has since said the two cities have made history.
“We are excited that we have come this far and we look forward with optimism that this bond should mature in strength and be of mutual benefit. Definitely, over the years, we have achieved greater understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultures,” Ndipo said.
