FDH Bank has signed a K20 million deal with musician Patience Namadingo as their brand ambassador for digital banking.
Namadingo was unveiled as the brand ambassador yesterday at the bank’s head offices in Blantyre.
Speaking during the event, FDH Senior Manager for Digital Banking Sales, Yamikani Mbawala, said the deal will run for a year and-a -half. With the possibility of extension.
Mbawala added that they expect Namadingo to take the bank’s message of digital banking to his fans as a musician.
“Patience Namadingo is a big brand, one of the most talented artists and he is one of the most trending artists at the moment. We expect to have as many customers as possible understand our products more because sometimes you need another person to tell a story about your products,” Mbawala said.
The deal also includes a latest Mercedes Benz which the musician has been permanently given by the bank.
On his part, Namadingo expressed excitement with the deal saying it is a milestone in the music industry in Malawi.
“I connect with people and people connect with me, so I will take this message to them,” the ‘Msati Mseke’ hit-maker said.
Namadingo has been in the limelight lately with his reggae mashups which have seen him working with Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda and Black Missionaries, among others.
The singer and guitarist, who is also a stand-up comedian, was expected to hold two mashup concerts in Blantyre and Lilongwe this coming weekend which have since been postponed due to coronavirus fears.
This is not the first time for Namadingo to work with different companies as he has also been in partnerships with MultiChoice Malawi and Ecobank, among other.
In December last year, the artist also entered into a partnership with an internet service provider Afrimax Limited to market its services.
